The layers of a secure network

Network security is not a device but a number of layers in a row. The firewall stops what does not belong, the switch distributes the wired traffic, and guests get a network of their own, separate from your systems.

The layer people skip most often is the last one: a second connection, so an outage at your provider does not bring your business to a halt.

Protection against unwanted traffic

Security is an integral part of our network management. We supply and manage firewalls that protect your network against unwanted traffic from outside. These firewalls are configured, monitored and regularly updated by us, so you are always protected against threats.

A firewall is only as good as its rules, so we write them down and review them: which traffic is allowed in, which is allowed out, and what is deliberately closed. Unused rules from an earlier setup are the ones that quietly leave a door open, so those go out.

We segment the network with VLANs, keep guest wifi apart from your systems, and set up site-to-site and client VPN where people need to reach the office from elsewhere. Firmware updates and their logs are ours to watch, and what stands out becomes a ticket rather than a line nobody reads.
